AIM’s Symposium is a one-day conference to close out a larger 3-day conference with some specialised lectures, workshops performances and presentations highlighting the latest in tertiary and post-graduate research from current students, alumnus, and friends of the Australian Institute of Music!
Remote/online connections (internet streaming options) will be available for presenters/attendees.
Submissions are open from Aug 5th, 2024 with the opportunity to provide feedback and engage in conversation with all interested participants. Conference attendees/presenters can nominate which state/venue they wish to attend for ACMC24 conference.
AIM’s 2024 Symposium has no theme, research and creative practice from a number of parallel disciplines (to music and performance) will be accepted, and is encouraged. This year is the first time AIM’s Symposia will be open to external and non-tertiary researchers. Prospective students of the Australian Institute of Music are encouraged to attend and participate.
The deadline for submitting proposals is Friday, September 13, 2024.
Decisions will be communicated by the end of September, 2024.
We invite proposals of 300 words on all topics relating to music, performance practice and culture from all fields,
including but not limited to musicology, ethnomusicology, music education, music theory, performance studies,
composition, music technology, sound recording, and music psychology; and all associated parallel disciplines.
Presentations in the format of:
1) twenty-minute papers presentation;
2) thirty-minute lecture recitals;
3) thirty-minute technical demonstrations;
4) posters presentations;
5) one-hour collaborative workshops or panels sessions;
Proposals and presentations must be in English.
Open to all researchers, online and in-person submissions will be accepted.
